Today (August 27th) is the last day to see “The Art of Stax: Essential Album Photographs by Joel Brodsky” at the Stax Museum of American Soul Music. The exhibit features the life and work of Joel Brodsky. On display are some original photos used for record album covers, including Isaac Hayes’ Black Moses; Booker T. and the MGs’ McLemore Avenue, Mavis Staples’ Only for the Lonely, Jean Knight’s Mr. Big Stuff, and David Porter’s Victim of the Joke?

Hi, The Joel Brodsky exhibit has been exteded through September 17th!! After it is down, a new exhibit will open with a reception on Sunday, September 23, 2 - 5 p.m. This exhibit is “STAX HERE AND NOW: Current Images of the Stars of Stax Records.” These are never-before-shown photos of the Stax legends doing what they do today, frome home life with friends and family to still-enthralling live performances. Come check it out! Includes photos of Isaac Hayes, David Porter, Booker T. & the MGS, Mavis Staples, Linda Lyndell, Eddie Floyd, William Bell, and numerous others!!
